In my current role as a Developer Advocate at Progress I collaborate with cross-functional business units to make the external developer experience the best it can be. My role consists of the following:

• Creating engaging technical and thought leadership blog posts directed towards a technical audience
• Manage a Slack Community of ~10,000 external engineers as the first line of support by answering technical questions and escalating when necessary
• Bootstrapping Progress Chef’s first Twitch live streaming program
• Organizing and hosting monthly office hours sessions with members of various teams 
• Moderating a weekly community meeting where internal engineers disseminate updates to the community
• Moderating and participating in Community Guild sessions to close the feedback loop between our internal product teams and the community
• Preparing code samples and tutorials to help reduce implementation friction for external developers
• Creating courses for Progress Chef’s online learning platform LearnChef

In my previous role at Jackrabbit I worked as an agile .NET software developer to maintain and enhance Jackrabbit’s flagship class management product. My role consisted of the following:

• Gave direction and feedback on feature proposals for Jackrabbit’s external API.
• Provided technical assistance for research and evaluation of relevant technologies, upgrades and alternatives
• Assessing UI/UX designs for technical feasibility
• Participated in internal developer outreach, such as writing technical blog posts, new technical documentation, hosting internal lunch and learn sessions.
• Helped implement engineering pre-planning session which increased sprint velocity by 20%
• Introduced user story refinement strategy that helped the team estimate work more accurately
• Conducting detailed code reviews
• Enforcing code quality standards according to best practices
• Mentored junior engineers

In my current role at C-Trax, I lead a team of 9 in the development of a net new point of sale, CRM (customer relationship management) and inventory management application. As the most senior level technical resource in this agile startup environment I wear many hats. My role consists of the following:

• Recruiting, hiring and training talent (and outsourcing when necessary)
• Assessing UI/UX designs for technical feasibility
• Implemented Back office web app UI from concept through deployment
• Planning product roadmap and prioritizing new features
• Conducting code reviews
• Setting and enforcing code quality standards according to best practices
• Conducting product demos for prospective clients, investors, and anyone willing to listen
• Facilitating hardware integrations
• Creating RESTful web services and integrating with third party REST API’s
• Performing 1:1s with team members

In my former position at Levvel, I participated in 2 high visibility projects. First, development of a net new billing and

payments file generation web service. This is a critical piece of  AvidXchange's partnership with MasterCard with a very tight deadline of 5 months from concept to production. 

Second, I was a key participant in the development of Dentsply Sirona’s dental ecommerce content management system. This project was critical in Dentsply Sirona’s digital transformation efforts. 

My role in these projects consisted of the following:

AvidXchange Billing Project:

• Leading an agile team of 4 developers and 2 QA personnel including 2 junior developers in the development of a new billing and payments file generation service
• Creating RESTful web services using C#
• Consistently achieving 80% code coverage with unit tests using Moq and NUnit framework
• Mentoring junior developers using methods such as pair programming and code reviews
• Working with Product Owners, Software Architects, and other developers to craft solutions to complex business problems
• Maintaining sprint velocity by identifying gaps in requirements and getting clarification prior to committing my team

      Dentsply-Sirona Ecommerce Project:

• Assessing UI/UX designs in InVision and performing pixel perfect implementations using React/Redux & Bootstrap
• Working with Product Owners, Software Architects, and other developers to craft solutions to complex business problems

As a Mid- Level .NET application developer, I work with a team of 9 developers to maintain 4 scalable, user centric medical treatment and claims processing applications. We recently successfully on boarded our first SaaS client. During this process, I was responsible for both front end and middle tier maintenance as well as writing custom functionality for our in house applications as well as our SaaS applications. My primary duties in this position are :

• Preparing technical documentation such as system architecture, functional, design documents for SAAS client  
• Writing unit testable, scalable, adaptable, data-driven code  for medical treatment and claims processing that allows for growth within the business as well as a smooth transition for implementation with SAAS clientele

• Ensured that applications were consistently up to state and federal compliance mandates.
• Upgrading legacy applications to MVC5, Bootstrap 3 and Kendo UI

• Translating business requirements into web applications using ASP.NET , C# VB.NET and MVC5

As a Mid- Level .NET Application Support Analyst I was responsible for supporting a highly complex, multi-tiered customized implementation of MS Dynamics CRM. I maintained constant communication with users as well as developers in an effort to continuously improve Wells Fargo’s 3 custom implementations of MS Dynamics CRM. Because of my background in .NET development, I was also tasked to assist the development team with bug fixes and application maintenance when needed.

In this role I was responsible for coordinating the migration to MS Dynamics CRM from another legacy CRM tool. I led the development of custom database objects and managed the transfer of all CRM data using ETL packages. This assured a seamless transition while assuring the highest level of data integrity. My team also developed 3 custom plugin tools using ASP.NET to the MS Dynamics platform to meet business requirements.

During my active duty period in the Navy, I was assigned to the US Special Operations Command’s computer engineering unit. There I learned VB.NET through manual QA testing of the unit’s various geospatial software deliverables. My most notable achievement in this position was leading the initiative to automate testing using NUnit. This improved productivity by 30% and alse decreased bug-fix tickets by 50%. It was with this assignment that my passion for complex problem solving through software development was born. In 2011, I was able to transition to a junior developer role within my unit.

I began working on my degree program while deployed in Afghanistan with the Navy. I have taken several breaks for a variety of reasons however I have 4 classes remaining before I earn my degree. I plan to complete these courses and finally close this chapter in my life in 2021.
